Another beautiful day in the books! We had a fun time cruising out to deeper water! We headed to the 9-mile bank and spotted a bunch of birds diving in the water. We found a huge aggregation of birds with terns, gulls, shearwaters, and California brown pelicans! We spotted a big splash which alerted us to a huge pod of ~400 Long-beaked Common dolphins! They were traveling to the NW and enjoyed watching them surfing in our wake and at the bow! We were completely surrounded by an amazing explosion of wildlife. It was pretty quiet on the water until we got out to that zone so it was exhilarating to find everything there in one spot!
We only had one trip today, but we will be back tomorrow! Hope to sea you there!
