A beautiful last Monday of September out on the Pacific Ocean. We found dolphins after an hour of going northwest, about 200 Long-beaked common dolphins. Later, on our way toward the southeast, we came across about 60 offshore bottlenose dolphins. We saw the research vessel the Atlantis, which carries the famous submersible Alvin, part of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Plenty of seabirds as well, including pelicans, terns cormorants, shearwaters and phalaropes. Thanks for joining the motor vessel Inspiration, everybody. —Biologist Greg McCormack
