The calm after the storm.
The crew of SDWW was so happy to be out on the water today after being stuck on land for the last couple stormy days and it was beautiful out there.
We had pockets of sunshine, the odd sprinkle of rain and a little swell.
Our Sunday morning trip we started by dodging rainy squalls and made our way to the northwest where a pod of~150 long-beaked commons dolphins popped up seemingly out of nowhere. They were very boat friendly hanging out for a free ride cruising in our wake.
On the afternoon trip the Pacific had so many gulls, phalaropes, shearwaters and pelicans resting in rafts scattered leading us to the drop off where we encountered an active pod of ~200 short beaked commons dolphin porpoising in the sun sparkly water. We saw cow calf pairs racing to the bow and many surfing along side the Inspiration.
On both trips today we also got to see so many beautiful rainbows! Truly, icing on the cake.
We have trips throughout the week, come out and have some fun.
