Stunning seas and skies!

It still feels like summer out on the Pacific Ocean today, sunscreen was definitely needed for passengers on the Privateer on our PM tour today.

Massive rafts of shearwaters were seen resting around the drop-off where there was a hugely acrobatic pod of short beaked common dolphins! They were showing off and doing huge leaps repetitively. There was ~200 scattered short beaked common dolphins in the pod and tons of babies and juveniles in the mix.

Our sunset tour today was one for the books, oh my goodness! We were treated to the most spectacular show from a pair of surface active humpback whales!

There was tail-lobbing, there was breaching, there was peck slapping. And whales coming up to close passangers got sprayed by their spout. It was truly amazing! We sat with off engines off for close to an hour watching them circle and play in the water. At one stage a THIRD humpback showed up and synchronized its dives also. We heard so many trumpet blows, which is behaviour seen from happy whales.

The crew and passengers alike were thrilled.

We rounded out the trip today with a beautiful red sunset in the hazy skies.

We have spaces available for trips everyday this week, come back the most of this humpback migration while the watching is good!
