We spent a beautiful day on the water with dolphins all day! On our morning trip, we pushed out to the west and enjoyed the smooth seas! Passengers were excited to catch up with a big pod of ~300 Long-beaked Common dolphins! They were really fun and surfed our wake and rode the bow! We sighted a handful of cow/calf pairs which is not to common to see in the winter months.
On our afternoon cruise, we left Mission bay and cruised down to the SW. We got to the drop-off and spotted a few splashes and even mini spouts as they surfaced! There were about 10 Offshore bottlenose dolphins! We noticed their dorsal fins slicing through the water. They were pretty mellow but still sighted them all around the boat. We followed the drop-off to the north and then hugged the coast back south. We took in the amazing sunset and spotted a single Inshore bottlenose dolphin in the channel!
We have a full day of whale watching on both boats tomorrow, so we hope to see you there! We will also be tabling at Love Your Wetlands Day in Crown Point! Come swing by and say hello!
