The Grays have had a FLIRTY February! ![]()

We found our first whale pretty quickly today, and before long we were spotting spouts in every direction. It feels so good to see signs of life everywhere out there!
Eventually we came across a cluster of spouts all in the same spot — and sure enough, we had a pod of three Gray whales getting intimate with each other. Yep… it was one of those encounters. We saw the “pink sea monster” make an appearance once or twice. ![]()

A group of common dolphins was hanging around them too, so even when the whales dove, the dolphins helped us keep track of the action. Gray whales can get a little frisky on their northbound migration — hormones still raging and all — and this trio was definitely feeling the February vibes. They were super surface‑active, so we stayed with them while still spotting about seven whales total within viewing distance.
Never a dull moment during migration season!
