What a start to the week!

Today aboard the Ohana we made our way out to the drop off with a great group of passengers where we were treated to spout after spout!

There was a trio of northbound very surface active gray whales and hungry ready to get back to Alaska. They were hanging out pretty close together and taking short dives.

Beyond the whales towards to horizon we could see big splashes from all directions with an energized pod of ~400 short beaked common dolphins that were popping off with massive leaps out of water. Some were seen 10-15 feet in the air putting on the most acrobatic display.

Tons of little baby dolphins were seen in the pod and are always a crowd pleaser.

We left the short-beaked common dolphins and caught back up with the gray whales where a 4th gray had joined the group!

At times we got to see all of them simultaneously at the surface. We finally got to see some tail flukes from the grays which we didn’t get to see when we first encountered them.

Days like this on the water are hard to beat.
