Crepuscular rays were already framing the clouds as we headed out on our sunset cruise, painting the sky in soft golds and violets. Before we even reached the area, our familiar sleepy humpback announced itself with a massive tail throw visible from miles away — a pretty unmistakable “I’m still here.”

We spent unhurried time with this gentle giant as it lingered at the surface, rising and sinking in slow, relaxed motions that matched the calm of the evening.

On our way home, the ocean shifted into metallic pastels, and a pod of racing long‑beaked common dolphins cut through the colors like living brushstrokes. They slid effortlessly through the glowing water, escorting us back toward shore as the last light faded.

Another sunset, another little bit of magic.
