With a completely full boat, sunshine and great ocean conditions, we headed out in search of whales on the Privateer’s 12:30PM trip.  We were moving north following a couple hour old report of a baleen whale but were pleasantly surprised when a minke whale popped up a few hundred yards off our left side! Usually these small baleen whales are slinky and hard to track but this one was QUITE friendly and was easy to track. Once we left the minke on their merry way, we were treated to thousands of birds having feeding frenzies every few hundred yards all the way back to Mission Bay!

I’ll be curious to see if any more cetaceans pop up this evening with all the feeding activity we saw!
