I wish all trips were this beautiful. We made our way out of Quivera Basin to the mild Pacific Ocean. Where we had glassy seas and pleasant sea breezes and clear water visibility.
Right on the drop-off, we had a pod of ~30 bottlenose dolphins. They were so fun! Breaching and bow-riding and launching out of the water! The pod had a couple of calves, and one mum lifted her baby up like she was presenting it so we could all see!
It was the sweetest.
Not far from the bottlenose dolphins, just inside the drop-off, a spout was sighted from a humpback whale!
Everyone on board got treated to some good looks with flukes on every sounding dive.
With the seas being so clear and it being sunny, we also enjoyed “whale glow” from its white pectoral fins, being the best sighting cue to announce its presence.
We have availability on the sunset trip today and good chances of relocating this humpback. With seas this nice, it’s a superb time to join us for any of our seasick-challenged friends.
