Fun times aboard the Privateer! We started the day off with a single Humpback whale and ~40 Risso’s dolphins! We were ecstatic to see many cow/calf pairs! They still had their fetal folds! During the afternoon trip, we caught up with a quad pod of Gray whales! On approach, one whale breached three times in a row! They were just hanging out at the surface, and not really going for dives. We got see their tail flukes as they went down for a dive! During the sunset trip, we set out to the north and cruised along the coast. We spotted some diving birds and splashes to the west, so we went to investigate. We ended up finding an amazing MEGAPOD of Long-beaked Common dolphins! They were seen traveling to the south, along the drop-off. The sunset was phenomenal!
