We had a Super Cetacean Saturday aboard the Privateer! During the morning trip, we encountered ~75 Long-beaked Common dolphins cruising to the south. We saw many cow/calf pairs. On our way back in, we sighted a mixed pod of ~10 Offshore bottlenose dolphins and ~30-40 Risso’s dolphins! They were amazing! Many calves were seen in the mix! During the afternoon trip, we found an abundance of life intersecting out in deeper water! First a trio of Northbound Gray whales, then a Megapod of Long-beaked Common dolphins. Then we hung out with a cow/calf pair of Humpbacks! Our sunset trip was beautiful! We set out to the NW and sighted feeding birds and a big pod of ~200 Long-beaked Common dolphins. Then we sighted a spout! We found a cow/calf pair of Humpback whales! Then another whale surface nearby. We never got great looks at it, so we dubbed in a Mystery Whale. Not too far, we saw some splashing! Another cow/calf pair of Humpbacks where cruising north. We got to see their beautiful tail!
The wildlife is so good right now! Come on out soon!
