Our morning trip had great conditions! We had glassy seas and really nice visibility. We came across a small pod of long beaked common dolphins and there were so many babies, even a couple that still had their fetal folds. We also came across another pod of long beaks as we were coming back in. Our afternoon trip had it all! We travelled about 12 miles out of Mission Bay and found a small pod of short beaked common dolphins but they were on a mission to the north. About a mile away, we came across 2 fin whales. We stuck around for 3 cycles and got some really good looks. Pointing towards Mission Bay again, we found a group of about 50 offshore bottlenose dolphins. There were many babies in that group too! We also got to watch one keep its head on the surface watching our boat.
