Friday, May 5 2023. First Blues of the season!

We had our first Blue Whale of the year today!!!!
We started our adventure heading straight west from Mission Bay as we had heard whispers of something big waiting out there for us. We were quickly rewarded by sighting not just one – but three blue whales! We also ran into a very friendly Mola Mola eating Valella valella.
Not all blue whales will show their tail when they take their deep dives so, we were quite lucky to find one on our way back in that thought it was pretty cool to give us a solid wave good bye.
At the very last second Capt. Ryan managed to spot a small pod of offshore bottlenose dolphins as well, they’re always a delight to see out at sea.
