We’ve been having an incredible blue whale season so far this year! Today we had close encounters with 5 blue whales located off the continental shelf. We saw 7 other blue whales spouting out in the distance. On our way back to Mission Bay, we encountered a feeding frenzy with a pod of ~75 long-beaked common dolphins, 1 fin whale, a couple of California sea lions and various types of diving sea birds.
