Another day full of cetaceans! We had multiple blue whales on both our morning and afternoon trips. This morning we also encountered hundreds of long-beaked common dolphins, and offshore bottlenose dolphins as well. This afternoon nearly every whale lifted its flukes when it dove and we found a cow/calf pair!
The sunset trip was amazing! We had at least 10+ blue whales in the area, but got great looks at 5 of them. One Blue whale surfaced right next to us! We noticed its blue glow and watched it surface only 75-ft away from us! We even got to witness two flukes as they went down for their sounding dive. We were about to head back home when a pod of ~200 Long-beaked Common dolphins were sighted racing to the south. We observed them surfing in our wake and cruising at our bow. The perfect ending to a spoutstanding trip!
