We had another FIN-tastic day today seeing plenty of whales and dolphins just off our San Diego coast! The sun was out and sea conditions were very calm so we had great visibility today. We were escorted out to deeper water by ~400 long-beaked common dolphins. Many of those dolphins were surfing our bow and boat’s wake. Then, we saw about 15 blue whales in total. We had close looks at about 8 of those blue whales. At one point during our trip, we were completely surrounded by 6 blue whales all near the bow. We also saw a couple of flukes throughout our trip! On our way back to Mission Bay, we came across another pod of ~20 long-beaked common dolphins.
