We DOLPHINitely saw plenty of cetaceans this afternoon! We saw three different species of dolphins today. Just outside of the jetty we saw a pod of ~50 long-beaked common dolphins! Once we reached the drop-off, we saw 25 offshore bottlenose dolphins. One offshore bottlenose dolphin even jumped up about 10 feet into the sky right next to the boat. Then, we caught up with a pod of ~150 short-beaked common dolphins. They were super active today, leaping out of the water and creating large splashes. Then, we saw another pod of ~200 long-beaked common dolphins. We also saw one Mola-mola.

Sea conditions were perfect during our sunset trip! We had great visibility and super glassy waters. At the beginning of our trip, we encountered 200 long-beaked common dolphins. Soon after that we saw a small pod of ~25 short-beaked common dolphins. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on our way back to Quivera Basin. We can’t wait to have you onboard soon!
