What a swell way to start the week! We had incredible visibility today with sunny skies and bright blue water. It was a bit windy so we saw some white caps on the horizon. However, we were still able to spot plenty of bait balls, various species of sea birds and lots of large kelp patties. We also saw 4 Mola-molas and a medium size pod of ~150 short-beaked common dolphins. They were very active on the surface of the water, jumping into the air and creating large splashes. They were also tail-slapping and chin-slapping and many of short-beaked common dolphins were riding our bow. Every trip is different and we’re looking forward to a week filled with salty seas and cetaceans!
