We had warm, sunny skies and calm waters today! During our afternoon trip we spotted ~200 long-beaked common dolphins and a couple of mola-molas. It was so fun to see the long-beaked common dolphins riding alongside the boat and playing in our wake.
During the sunset trip, we headed up north off of La Jolla. We encountered several bait balls, various types of sea birds such as western gulls, black-vented shearwaters and California brown pelicans. We also saw lots of tuna feeding on small schooling fish. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset with orange and pink hues. We’ll be back out on the Pacific Ocean tomorrow and keen to find some more marine wildlife!
