Anchovies was on the menu today! We set out on two amazing trips to the north, up off La Jolla! Out there on the drop-off, we encountered thousands of birds and bait balls everywhere we went! There were hundreds of Long-beaked Common dolphins underneath the diving birds. We could even see the anchovies scatter and go under our boat a couple times. On the afternoon tour, we sighted a Minke whale on our way that popped up next to our boat! We watched it head straight for the feeding frenzy! On the sunset tour, we caught up the same Minke whale but it seemed to be headed out of the area, we only caught a few quick looks. The sunset was phenomenal! The perfect backdrop to all the wildlife encounters!
