We had a Spooky Spectacle today on the Privateer! We saw 3~4 humpback whales during our sunset trip! We headed up north and encountered our first pair of humpback whales even before the drop off! We sighted our friend “Twitch”- a humpback whale with a very distinct scar on their left fluke and Twitch’s companion who hung out with us for several breath cycles. Then, we headed out west towards the drop-off and enjoyed a beautiful sunset which was even more glorious than usual with the hot and dry Santa Ana winds coming down from the eastern deserts. On our way back to Mission Bay, we encountered another pair of humpback whales. They crossed our bow and went on a dive. We also sighted Twitch again off in the distance. It’s always fun and exciting time on the Privateer! We hope you all join us on an adventure out in the Pacific Ocean soon!
