Sunday Funday on the Privateer! The Pacific Ocean is so abundant with life! It is dolphinitely Grey whale season and the best time to see a myriad of cetaceans here in San Diego! On our morning trip, we found 1 Grey whale, a few Pacific White Sided dolphins, and some inshore bottle nose dolphins.
On our afternoon trip, we encountered ~5 Pacific White Sided dolphins and 2 Grey whales. One of the Grey whales actually BREACHED 3 times! It was so amazing to see a beautiful and massive Grey whale completely breach out of the water just in front of our bow! Our sunset trip was also super exciting this evening! We started off with seeing a couple of inshore bottlenose dolphins near the jetties. Then, we headed out west and spotted a single spout from another Grey whale. It was being a little elusive so we headed back towards Mission Beach to catch up with 2 Grey whales. We got to spend a decent amount of time with them for multiple breath cycles. On our way back to Misson Bay we spotted the same pod of Pacific White Sided dolphins and enjoyed a breathtaking sunset. It is always a fun time on the Privateer and we hope you guys can join us on the water soon!
