These whale puns are krilling me softly. But in all seriousness, why don’t blue whales make good comedians? – Because their jokes are too deep! On our morning trip, we were on the Ohana and travelled out west and encountered a pod of ~100 long-beaked common dolphins! Then, we travelled further southwest about 10 miles offshore and encountered a spout from a beautiful Blue whale! The Blue whale was going down for 8 minute dive intervals and even resurfaced right next to our starboard bow!
On our afternoon trip, we were back on the Privateer and travelled 13 miles offshore. We encountered a Blue whale near the west-side of the 9-mile bank. We hung out with it for several breath cycles and got some amazing looks. It is always a fun time on the water with us! Please come join us soon!
