We had an amazing Sunset Whale Watch this evening! We were greeted to the Pacific Ocean by 2 Inshroe bottlenose dolphins! They rode the bow as we head out to the west. We saw many species of birds to include shearwaters, California brown pelicans, and Common Loons! We got to the drop-off and cruised to the north. We were off La Jolla when we spotted 2 Humpback whales headed to the SE! We saw them head down for a dive and waited only 8-min and one re-surfaced! After about 5 breaths, the other larger one surfaced next to it! We loved to watch them surface at the same time! It was also cool to see their spouts a have a beautiful orange glow due to the sunset! They were up for a long surface interval of ~10 minutes! We had the best finale with double flukes raised as they waved goodbye to us! The sunset was beautiful!
