WE ARE BACK!
After a week of being offline due to the large swells we are so happy to be back on the Pacific ocean! We had a swell time hanging out with a Minke whale! It was a quiet start to our trip but about 8-miles from Mission Bay, outside of La Jolla a juvenile Minke whale surprised us! Not too far from us, it popped up and seemed to be headed toward the coast! Minke’s can be hard to track as they can be shy and elusive, but this Minke popped up all around us. It seemed to be hanging out west of the drop-off possibly in search of food. It kept us on our toes and traveled in every direction. We tried to follow its small fluke print to figure out its swimming pattern but no such luck. Our passengers were great and helped us spot the Minke surface around the Privateer! We turned around and enjoyed the smooth seas toward the coast. We are excited to get back out there tomorrow!
Sea ya then!
