It was a swell day with swell dolphins!

We pushed out of the Mission bay jetties and cruised to the west. While scanning all around us, we noticed a lot of bird activity to the south. The birds were scattered over a mile or two! Once we got a little closer, we could see our favorite dolphriends! We watched in awe as about 500 Long-beaked Common dolphins were traveling straight toward us to the north! We got amazing looks as they surfaced all around us! They porpoised beside the boat as they raced toward the bow! We observed about 5 to 10 Commons surfing our wakes! They were very chatty today and could hear them whistling from both decks! We didn’t want to leave the scene but we pushed out to the west in search for more! We hung out along the drop-off, picked up a Mylar balloon, spotted more birds and a couple sea lions. Time got the best of us, so we had to cruise in surfing the big swells. We spotted the tail-end of the big pod of Commons still headed to the north on the way in.

We hope you can join us soon for a fun time on the Pacific!
