This morning we headed out to the Pacific to see what we could find, it was SUPER foggy but that didn’t stop us from finding a feeding frenzy of common dolphins and tons of sea birds! We found even more concentrated common dolphin on our afternoon trip! There were nearly 300 all packed in close working together to wrangle fish. As we cruised through, some dolphins took a short break from the hunt to come say hi and catch a ride in our wake!

We had an amazing sunset cruise! We set out to the NW and only a couple miles from shore we sighted a fun, small pod of ~40 Long-beaked Common dolphins! The popped up all around our boat! We continued up coastline and took in all the views! We found ourselves off of Torrey Pines which made an incredible backdrop for another pod of ~300 Long-beaked Common dolphins! They were racing to the north, when we finally caught up with them they beelined it to our boat! There were hundreds of birds diving and feeding alongside them. There were a handfuls of cow/calf pairs! The low angle of the sunset illuminated the dolphins as they leaped out of the water! We waved goodbye and continued back south. We had an amazing sunset to top off the evening! As the sun dropped beyond the horizon, we had an amazing view of bright Green Flash! A great ending to a beautiful day!
