We had an amazing afternoon trip with a QUAD POD of Gray whales headed southbound! We also enjoyed small pods of Long-beaked Common dolphin around us all throughout the trip! We left the jetties and spotted about 15 individuals zooming around just a few miles from shore! There was one rambunctious juvenile Common dolphin that kept breaching in front of our boat! About 4-miles from shore an amazing pod of Gray whales were headed south and they seemed to be pretty social as they changed directions, slowed down and hung out with Common dolphins! We got great looks as it surfaced for breaths, even synchronizing their spouts! The conditions were so nice and calm! We hope we can find more whales and dolphins on our next sunset trip. We will be back with updates!
UPDATES JUST IN! HOLY WHALES! 4 MORE THIS EVENING for at total of 8 whales! They are coming! We cruised just outside of the jetties and spotted two gray whales within about a mile and a half. As we watched these whales, two more appeared on the horizon! We spent good time with both duos.
