Dinner is SERVED! The ocean is BOILING with baitfish. With food comes predators, we’re very eager to see what comes in the next few weeks! Today was INCREDIBLE! We had nearly 800 long beaked common dolphins and they were HUNGRY! These dolphins were hearding massive schools of baitfish! We could see hundred of fish erupting from the sea a packs of dolphins honed in on them. They were fleeing as fast as they could!

We’ve got one more trip today – stay tuned!

Ring, ring, ring, a Sneaky Minke Whale answered our whale calls today! We also enjoyed an epic wild dolphin show on the sunset trip! Today, we went northwest towards La Jolla and encountered several scattered pods of ~250 long-beaked common dolphins. They were surfing in our wake and riding the bow! We also encountered an awesome pod of ~100 short-beaked common dolphins and loved seeing them launch themselves high into the air! On our way back towards Mission Bay, we encountered a Common Minke whale! They are the second smallest baleen whale, after the pygmy right whale. They are also the smallest baleen whale within the rorqual whale family! The Minke circled our boat a few times and popped up super close next to our starboard bow! More ocean fun coming up tomorrow, please join soon!
