Who likes anchovies on their pizza?! -I don’t but I know some of my humpback whale friends wouldn’t mind a few anchovies! We’ve been having whaley great humpback whale sightings lately! Today, we found a massive feeding frenzy with hundreds of California brown pelicans, elegant terns, shearwaters, western gulls coupled with ~300 long-beaked common dolphins & 1 HUMPBACK whale!!! The humpback whale was being a little frisky! We saw some tail-lobbing, some pectoral flippers waving at us and so many tail lifts showing their beautiful tail flukes! We also saw so many large bait balls of northern anchovies attracting all of these predators! The baitball even travelled underneath us at one point, trying to take shelter from the long-beaked dolphins, birds and humpback whale! We have another trip coming up so please stay tuned!
