Monday who? Common dolphins whoooo! We had a super fun trip this afternoon! We left the Mission bay jetties and cruised out to the NW. We got to about 3-miles from shore and spotted seabirds and splashes out on the horizon! We caught up with an amazing pod of ~500 Long-beaked Common dolphins! They were absolutely incredible and full of energy! As soon as we got within 100-yds of them they beelined straight to us! Before we realized it, we were completely surrounded! They traveling fast to the north so we cruised alongside them! We spotted several cow/calf pairs! We also attempted our shot at getting a dolphin selfie! We waved goodbye and continued on and got about 11-miles from the Mission bay jetties. We turned in toward the La Jolla canyon and followed the drop-off back to the south again. We caught up with that same pod once more! And they were just as fun to watch as before! We enjoyed the smooth ride in, taking in the sights of the beautiful San Diego coastline!
Hope to sea ya on a trip soon!
