We had a Whaley fun time on all our trips with Humpbacks and Common dolphins sighted!
We had two morning tours that caught up with a shy Humpback and both short-beaked and long-beaked Common dolphins!
For our 12:30pm trip, we set out on the Inspiration and were treated to calm seas and sunny skies! We cruised out to the NW and hung out with a Humpback whale! Our first view of it was its tail being lifted up high in the sky! All passengers cheered with excitement! It was a very unpredictable humpy that was popping up all around our boat! We got to see it raise its tail up again as it was doing a tail-stand! We noticed it was rolling around in kelp! Saturday’s are great for a nice spa day with a kelp wrap on the to-do list! We caught up with ~30 Long-beaked Common dolphins! And they were so fun to watch in the clear blue water! We even sighted a cow/calf pair! On our way in we sighted another Humpback that was traveling north! We caught two breath cycles with it and could see the tail and noticed distinct pattern differences between the two whales! We have one more trip to go!
We had a gorgeous sunset tour with amazing visibility and calms seas! It was like a lake out there! We headed to the NW and got to the drop-off. We sighted some major bird activity and splashes! There were hundreds of birds feeding alongside Long-beaked Common dolphins! We were excited to see so many bait balls with dolphins zooming through them at a rapid speed! We continued on eventually hooking it out to the south and came across multiple pods of Commons! There was non-stop feeding going on across all different pods we encountered. We made it down to the south and then hooked it in. All the way back to the jetties, we were seeing more Commons! We likely had at least 10 different pods totaling 1000 dolphins! So many calves were sighted in every pod too!
We hope you’ll join us for a tour soon!
