We had one trip today and it rocked! We just reached the drop off when we were greeted by about 100 long beaked common dolphins. We passed through the pod a couple times, but we had our eyes on a larger prize down to the south. We cruised to the south, almost the Point Loma, when we found a group of 4 humpback whales! One of them breached as we were approaching leaving a huge splash. These were really large whales! They stayed at the surface for long periods of time and had very short dive times. We got super lucky when they decided to swim right underneath us and pop up on our other side! We could actually see them underneath us on our sonar! We also had a really nice ride back in and we are hoping this good weather will stay with us for the next couple of days!
