Fall is rollin in but that means gorgeous conditions for us! This time of year the sea seems to settle a bit. We encountered both short beaked and long beaked common dolphin on our trips today, each pod about 100 strong. We see these dolphins almost every day but they never fail to get us giggling with delight. The water temperatures are dropping, just a couple weeks ago it was hanging in the low 70s but when we set out this morning the temp gauge read 58 degrees! That’s quite a drop in a short period of time. Colder water means a rotation of wildlife though and fall usually brings us humpbacks so our hopes are high for some bigger baleen filtering down to us from Monterey! Yesterday was a good indicator of that – hope that continues!
