HUMPBACKS TWO DAYS IN A ROW! It’s firing up here in San Diego!

We spotted a huge MEGAPOD of Long-beaked Common dolphins racing to the north along the drop-off today. They were accompanied by California sea lions and hundreds of birds. We spotted a single Bryde’s whale following them too! It was a little elusive so we enjoyed the amazing acrobatics put on by the Common dolphins. We observed many cow/calf pairs cruising beside our boat! We set out to the west to see what else could find, but it was a lot quieter out there. As we made our way in, we sighted TWO adult Humpbacks traveling north, following another big pod of Common dolphins. They were traveling slowly and a surfaced beside us only 50-ft from the boat! We got great looks as they had quick dive times of only 4-min. We even got a glimpse at one the tails! It was incredible and we can’t wait for tomorrow! We are hoping this is the start of our Fall Humpy season! Come out now, before these beauties continue south for the winter!
