The Pacific Ocean was teeming with wildlife! We set out to the west and encountered a juvenile Humpback following a huge pod of Long-beaked Common dolphin! There were hundreds of birds diving in the water feeding on likely small schooling fish! There were a lot of California sea lions sighted all around! The saying goes, “When the food is good, everyone shows up for the party!” And boy did we have a feeding frenzy party! We recognized the little juvenile humpback seen earlier this month! We were completely surrounded by at least 300 Long-beaked Common dolphin! They surfed our wake and rode the bow! We spotted wee little dolphin calves leaping next to mom! We had amazing views of La Jolla and downtown San Diego! We began our journey home, when a passenger sighted a spout! It belonged to a southbound gray whale! It was only a couple of miles from shore and we managed to get a couple of looks along with the big tail! We waved goodbye and continued back to the barn!

Every time we go out to sea we never know what we will see! So join us for a trip soon!
