We were whaley blessed this morning with glassy sea conditions, beautiful sunny skies and finomenal wildlife! We went north towards La Jolla and saw so many sea birds diving down and feeding on large bait balls! Then, we travelled towards the drop-off and decided to go south just outside of the drop-off to search for some wildlife. We finally caught up with an epic pod of ~50 offshore bottlenose dolphins! They were leaping out of water and getting so much air! Sea conditions were so glassy & dreamy this morning with vibrant blues and absolutely no wind! We found another pod of ~25 short-beaked common dolphins on our way home. The day is still young, please come swim away with us to find some beautiful marine mammals! We have two more trips coming up!

We had a WHALE of a trip!! We had a BREACHER!! We caught up with 2 Humpbacks and 1 NB Gray whale and ~500 Long-Beaked Common dolphins! Our first sighting cue is usually seabirds, splashes or a spout but today our first sighting cue was a BREACHING Humpback! We raced over and there were around 5 bait balls with hundreds of Commons circling the area feeding! We saw almost every kind of surface active behavior that Humpys exhibit! We observed 3 breaches in total, tail throws, lunge-feeding and a close encounter with the pair of Humpbacks that came over to us! The Gray whale was cruising right in the middle of all the action! The smaller of the two Humpbacks was actually seen last night on the sunset tour!
Our sunset tour was a bit quiet as most of the larger wildlife had moved a bit further south than we could venture down to. We saw a few scattered pods of bottlenose dolphin and an absolutely spectacular sunset!
