Despite the foggy morning we were gifted with calm seas and over 500 Long Beaked Common Dolphin. They were very spread out feeding on anchovies, seabirds were swarming all over, and there were handfuls of baby dolphin mixed into the pod.

We had a stellar afternoon trip! We cruised out to the west and hung out with a southbound Humpback whale! It was following the drop-off very slowly about 4-5mph. We got great looks as it surfaced for 3-5 breaths and went down for 5-7 min dives! We got a look at its beautiful tail flukes all but one time! We turned to the north in search of more wildlife and then hooked in toward Mission bay. We spotted our sister boat, the Ohana hanging with some Long-beaked Common dolphins about a mile from shore. We loved hearing the excitement the dolphins brought to the whole boat! Every one was stoked to see them surfing beside us and riding our bow! There were plenty of cow/calf pairs all around making it a nursery pod!

We hope to sea you on the next one!
