King tides are back!
Fairly quiet Monday out of the Pacific Ocean but a very sunny calm start to the week and we got the unique perspective of watching the barreling surf of the king tides rolling on to the San Diego Beaches.
We caught up with an Osprey making our way out of Quivera Basin, a favoured bird of the crew and not something we see every day.
Shortly after leaving the jetties in only 100 ft depth of water we spotted the very recognizable spout of a gray whale.
This solo south-bounder was taking just a couple breaths at the surface before taking sounding dives but never showed us its tail flukes.
Maybe we’ll have better luck with flukes tomorrow?
Stay tuned to find out.
