We hung out with a solo southbound Gray, ~10 Pacific white-sided dolphin, and ~400 Long-beaked Common dolphins!

We had an action-packed trip, with sightings all throughout the tour! As soon as we left the Mission Bay jetties, we sighted playful Pacific white-sided dolphins cruising south. There was a California sea lion cruising with them too! They surfed our wake and made an appearance at the bow! Not too long after, Captain Brian spotted a spout right in front of us, about a mile away! We caught up with a shy southbound Gray that once found the kelp forest, became a little stealthy. We did manage to get one view of the tail flukes as it went down for its sounding dive! We had the best backdrop, as it was within a mile from shore so we got great looks at Point Loma and Mexico! We pushed out to the west and cruised the drop-off to the north! Passengers were stoked as we got see such an awesome pod of ~400 Long-beaked Common dolphins! Lately, since we’ve been spending so much time close to shore, we’ve been missing the big pods Common dolphins! We were completely surrounded! We spotted some very rambunctious subgroups and also a few cow/calf pairs! We turned in and spotted another small pod of Pacific white-sided dolphins!

The day was so beautiful we even had beautiful PROPOSAL on the boat on our way home! SHE SAID YESS!!

Couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful trip!
