We were out in the WILD WILD WEST today! NON‑STOP thrills to the MAX!
This afternoon brought a truly once‑in‑a‑lifetime encounter. We raced out to deep water—passing up a pod of dolphins (to the dismay of some passengers)—but we knew there was better stuff out there!
And WOW… were we right.
Out there, we sighted a single fin whale. But honestly? One WEIRD whale is better than any grouping of normal whales. This LEVIATHAN was incredibly curious—the kind of whale that makes it very clear where all those old sailors’ tales of mystical creatures of the deep came from.
This enormous fin whale TURNED TOWARD US. Captain Michael quickly shut down the motors as the whale approached the boat.
Everything went slow motion. Just us… and one enormous whale.
It slowed to a halt and drifted right next to the boat—watching us just as enthusiastically as we watched it. This encounter lasted about 40 minutes, with the whale circling us repeatedly, staying at the surface, swimming under the boat, and surfacing with THUNDEROUS exhales.
The exhalation of a fin whale—with its 1,000+ gallon lung capacity—is enough to rattle the air around you. You can FEEL them breathing.
Nothing short of unforgettable.
On our way back, we got an incredible pass of long‑beaked common dolphins actively hunting fish.
Our sunset trip was different—but just as magical. We encountered 4+ fin whales that NEVER went on dives. They cruised peacefully north together, one atmosphere‑rattling exhale at a time.
After some quality time, Captain Brian sighted a pod of bottlenose dolphins—a rare treat for us! They were feeling playful and showed off all kinds of fun behaviors: breaching, tail slapping, chin slapping, and even blowing some raspberries.
Cherry on top? A gorgeous sunset.
Oh? You want to experience this yourself?Guess you’re going to have to book with us ASAP!
