The Privateer along with our guests had a fun, bumpy ride into the Pacific today! As soon as we exited the jetties we encountered some pretty bumpy sea conditions but had beautiful sunny skies with nice visibility. We sighted a few small pods of Common dolphin on our way out West, totaling ~5 individuals in each pod. We covered ~12 miles of water in our search for whales. On our way back toward land, we found an active, and energetic pod of Common dolphin, with ~200 individuals in total. We continued on, and while were about three miles from shore, we encountered a cow/calf pair of Northbound Gray whales! They were exhibiting stealthy, snorkeling behaviors so we maintained course and headed back to Mission Bay.

We have plenty of spots open tomorrow and on Sunday, so we hope you’ll join us for a fun day on the water!
