Happy October! The Common Dolphins were very active today and a relatively calm sea allowed for maximum enjoyment of them! We went out on two trips today, both of which were filled with Common Dolphin activity. We encountered two pods in the morning, amounting to roughly 250-260 individuals in total. On our afternoon trip, we spotted what looked to be a small handful of Common Dolphins. As we approached the pod, we realized it was much larger! We cruised through a huge line of them and the pod seemed to grow significantly as time went on! We encountered enthusiastic bow-riders, young calves and acrobats! After going through our log books from previous whales, it looks like October and November have been the hot months for Humpback Whales. We can’t wait to find out if it holds true in 2017! See you on Tuesday!
