We were rockin’ and rollin’ aboard The Ohana this morning! We took our sister vessel out for a whale watch and had some fairly good luck spotting wildlife, despite the conditions. Upon our exit from the Mission Bay channel, we encountered a handful of Inshore Bottlenose Dolphins that instantly took interest in our boat and approached the front to bow-ride. Soon after we cleared the jetties, a fast-paced dozen of Common Dolphins charged up the coast on the pursuit of prey. From a great distance, we noticed numerous signs of hunting behavior. Unfortunately, due to the unfavorable sea state, we were unable to follow them into shallow water. Throughout the trip, we spotted many California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and various sea bird species. Some of our passengers even spotted a Mola Mola (Ocean Sunfish)! Overall, it was a great day on the water! We are bummed out that the boat will be at the dock tomorrow instead of out searching for the mighty Blue Whales we’ve been seeing over the last few weeks! We will be back on Saturday and would love to see a full boat of eager whale watchers on the look-out with us! See you all soon.
