After a couple stormy days, conditions improved dramatically. Morning guests were able to observe a pod of 75 common dolphins, and had a brief visit from six Pacific white-sided dolphins. The wind kicked up in the afternoon, causing lots of whitecaps and quite a challenge to finding the cetaceans; however, late in the cruise we did locate a very young humpback whale…probably a yearling. We ended up returning a bit late as we wanted all the guests to have an opportunity to see the whale. As a bonus for being late, we were treated to a beautiful green flash along with the sunset from the vantage point of the Mission Bay Channel! The next few days are supposed to be beautiful…come on out and join us!
