A friend commented that it was “whale soup” out there, and he was correct. On the morning cruise, guests got to view six gray whales, and about 16 Pacific white-sided dolphins. Afternoon guests observed nine gray whales, and a fin whale which surfaced right behind the Eclipse. Captain Anthony did a great job of getting everyone views of the baleen whales, as well as Pacific white-sided and common dolphins. The photos show how calm the ocean was and how much pelagic red crab was out there today. We netted some of the crab so guests could see what they looked like up close. In addition to the numbers of whales seen above, we saw lots of blows in the distance. Awesome day on the water!!
