It was a beautiful day in San Diego with amazing conditions for whale watching. In the morning, we spotted a small pod of pacific white sided dolphins (~12), then immediately encountered our migrating gray whales (a total of 5) swimming southbound. To end the trip, we saw 500+ common dolphins which completely surrounded our boat!

In the afternoon trip, we spotted a few more pacific white sided dolphins (~8), and 5 MORE gray whales giving us a total of 10 for the day! But one particular difference from our morning encounter, we had a whale breach 4 times! It was magical to watch this 30-40 ton mammal jump so gracefully out of the water! All of our guest were in “awwwwww…..”
