Whale soup was on the menu for both the morning and afternoon cruises today. Morning guests observed seven gray whales, three of which were socializing; one fin whale, a minke whale and a mystery whale. Afternoon guests watched five northbound gray whales, approximately 100 active common dolphins, a minke whale and a mystery whale….which maybe, just maybe, could be a sei whale–they haven’t been seen in the area in years, but sure a possibility. Only wish we could have seen the rostrum on this animal to make a positive ID. It was too big to be a Brydes whale.
