Wow! Wow! Wow! Today was such a phenomenal day filled with non-stop Humpback Whale action! The morning trip started out pretty slow but as they say, “When it rains, it pours” and that was true for our sightings! We ran into about 200 scattered Common Dolphins that followed us throughout the entire trip. Right after, we saw a small, shy Fin Whale that didn’t want to be seen and a Humpback Whale spout in the distance. Once we got there, we realized that we had not one, but TWO Humpback Whales in the area. We split our time and got good looks at both of them, including some flukes! The afternoon trip saw a similar crowd: scattered pods of Common Dolphins and three Humpback Whales! We came across a huge feeding frenzy that included Common Dolphins, California Sea Lions, Tern birds, California Brown Pelicans, Sooty Shearwaters, and a pair of Humpback Whales lunge feeding!! We stuck with the Humpback Whales after feeding, and had one come right up to the boat, TWICE! On our way back towards Mission Bay, we were lucky enough to get a close look at a third Humpback Whale that surfaced right next to us. It was an extremely exciting day on the water and there was never a dull moment once the sightings began. I can’t wait to come back out tomorrow to find some more. We have lots of spots open for this week’s trips, so come join us!13100861_1176822379003158_2596896162630847652_n 13139146_1176822275669835_4809682270128843966_n 13103397_1176822569003139_5705433718365808444_n 13094290_1176822345669828_1835519967104356547_n
